Progression

As characters level up, their Might increases.

The difficulty of instance modes and the final rewards depend on the party’s Might. To maximize a character’s Might, it’s best to acquire relevant AAs before leveling up further.

Suggested Might

Your party's Might is the sum of all character's Might. If your party meets the suggested Might, your instance is labelled normal and you get the default chest reward intended for the encounter. Normal is always high enough to receive a legendary treasure chest, if the event features it.

You may exceed the suggested Might. However, the more you exceed it, the lesser the chest reward. If you exceed slightly, the instance is labelled normal-, at 200% of the suggested Might, it is labelled easy. If you exceed further, your instance will eventually be labelled trivial and there is no chest reward. You cannot request an instance with more than 400% of the suggested Might.

If you defeat an encounter with a lower amount of Might than suggested, you get a higher reward. At 50% of the suggested Might, your instance is labelled hard.

Instances that are classified as "Raid", such as "Vex Thal Raid" are particularly difficult and allow for an increased amount of Might: its suggested Might corresponds to 20 times the Might of player of that era, e.g. 20 times 10 Might = 200 for the "Vex Thal Raid" instance, whereas the regular "Vex Thal" instance only suggests 100 Might.

Modes

(group instances)

There are four main modes: Trivial, Easy, Normal and Hard. To soften the transitions a bit there are the +/- version of the modes. Normal-mode corresponds to the suggested Might for the instance. Easy-mode means you can show up with up to 200% of the suggested Might. Hard mode means you only use 50% of the suggested Might.
